More than a decade ago, while Apple was the go-to premium option, Samsung on the other side of the spectrum was also gaining momentum in offering feature-rich premium smartphones with its Galaxy S lineup.
While it’s still questionable whether to call a plastic phone premium, the phones themselves were fitted with top-of-the-line hardware, a good camera, an AMOLED display that is still the best in the industry, and an SoC running the vanilla flavor of Android.
Fast forward to today, we have glass-sandwiched uber-high-end Galaxy S models from the company; they bleed premium. It’s safe to say that Samsung will also follow the same script in 2025 as news from the company Executive confirms most of the leaks we have been seeing all this time.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup will be the top-of-the-line smartphones for consumers in 2025. The Korean giant has been slowly but steadily tweaking all the bits and pieces of the upcoming models. According to the news, Samsung will focus on five key areas for improvement this year: display, Camera, SoC, RAM, and trending AI features.
The base model Galaxy models, the S25 and the S25+ (S25 Plus) will likely retain the displays from last year whereas the Galaxy S25 Ultra is set to get an upgrade to a 6.9-inch display.
Confirming yet another leak, Samsung will likely bring two flavors for the SoC choices, the Exynos 2500 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The recent leaks have shown that the SD 8 Gen 4 will lean more toward GPU performance than the CPU; it’s still ways away from knowing about the Exynos 2500.
Samsung is planning this chip for the S25, so we can expect it to be feature-rich and performance-ready. The Galaxy S24 was offered 8GB RAM, while the S24+ and S24 Ultra offered 12GB for the entire storage lineup. This is likely to be repeated except for the S25 Ultra, which is now touted to have a mammoth 16GB RAM.
Yes, as per the latest leaks, Samsung will offer the entire storage lineup for S25 Ultra smartphones with 16GB of RAM. This detail can now be confirmed with the executive’s stress on five redeeming features for the upcoming flagship. The S25 Ultra is also getting another major upgrade in terms of camera. The quad camera setup will now feature a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50 MP camera with 3X optical zoom, another set of 50 MP cameras, one with a periscope lens offering 5X optical zoom, and the other, an ultra-wide camera.
While AI may not be a standout feature on smartphones currently, many of its features are quite handy, like a camera, to fix portraits and remove unwanted objects. Samsung has been advertising Galaxy AI heavily in recent times. The recent announcement of the flagship foldables also saw the announcement of new updates on Galaxy AI.
We will see what upgrades Samsung is planning when the official announcement is made, but if the recent upgrades are any proof, the company is planning something big with Galaxy AI for the S25 lineup.
