Samsung’s latest and greatest S lineup for 2025 will boast powerful hardware and other enhancements to challenge the competition. We expect all three models, the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Expected to be announced during the Qualcomm Summit in October, the SD8 Gen 4, like the S25 models, is the company’s flagship chip based on the 3NM-3NE process.
The system on chip is expected to rival the likes of the A18 chips that will feature on the iPhone 16 lineup.
The latest leaks, however, reveal that the SD 8 Gen 4 might not be as performant as expected. One tipster recently got their hands on the chip and did some testing. The result is that the SD 8 Gen 4 will be a GPU champ instead of offering better CPU performance. It’s unexpected because many upcoming flagships anticipate this chip’s power.
How much CPU performance are we losing? It is still a question, and we will have to wait for the official launch. That being said, questions arise about whether Samsung’s exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered Galaxy S25 models will be a reality or not.
