We are months away from the Galaxy S25 launch but inching closer to the iPhone 16 announcement. Either way, there have been a lot of rumors pouring details on the two best-competing smartphone companies in the world – Samsung and Apple. The iPhone running the vanilla flavor of iOS packs a premium design, a set of cameras that output usable if not good quality images, and topping it all with the latest A-series chip.
Samsung, the only company to come close to Apple, also offers a similar feature set in a more affordable segment. September will see the iPhone 16 announcement and while we are all eager to see the company’s greatest, it’s the latest Samsung news that has got us hooked with the S25 lineup.
In 2012, when Oculus Rift launched, it gained traction and people had their first taste of Virtual Reality. Over the years, the concept of VR has gained traction, with interested consumers investing in the tech.
Fast forward to today, Apple stands out of the crowd with its Vision Pro, a very expensive, premium VR headset. Since Apple has a closed ecosystem, the Vision Pro as per reviewers offers a very seamless experience. Samsung as per rumors has been working with Qualcomm and Google for a VR headset. The Galaxy XR as the name goes, is Samsung’s answer to the Vision Pro.
The Galaxy XR existence is bleak at this moment as early rumors only share that Samsung’s VR will launch alongside the S25 lineup. The source details that the Galaxy S25 models will also incorporate some features of the Galaxy XR headset. We are expecting this could be like extending displays, attending meetings, etc.
Unlike the Vision Pro from Apple, sources indicate that the Galaxy XR VR headset will be less expensive. As we said, this rumor is in its early phase so we will have to wait till the announcement for the exact details.
